Story
Since I ran the Paris Marathon on 6th April 2008 a further 64 soldiers have been killed on operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. This number will doubtless have risen by marathon day. Our servicemen and women continue to selflessly serve us, often at great personal cost.
The Army Benevolent Fund is a vital, relevant, and generous charity whose work includes giving essential support to current and former servicemen, as well as their families. As the Soldiers' Charity, the ABF provides vital financial help to the heartbroken families of those lost and the hundreds of soldiers who have suffered psychological and physical injuries whilst serving their country.
I know that there is always someone looking for charitable donations but please consider using my endeavours as an excuse for donating a sum of money to this essential charity.
It will make me run faster.
I will be running the London Marathon on Sun 26th April. All support would be most welcome.
Many thanks in anticipation of your generosity,
OLI DOHERTY.
