Story

UPDATE (14/10/2009):

I have made it!  Despite the initial motivation to train, I ended up being on the racing line unfit and ready to hurt my unwilling body.
Getting to the half-way mark in less than an hour, I thought I could catch up with the rabbit-dressed race leader but a few jumps later and he outran me.
My official race time: 1:57:54.  Rank: 3632 / 7431 racers.

Thanks for your donations and please note that you can still donate until the 12th of January 2009!

Hi People!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

In a moment of craziness, I have signed up for a half-marathon that I now have to run on the 12th of October...!  This run is the Royal Park Half Marathon that starts in Hyde Park and goes through Central London, passing in front of Buckingham Palace and partly going along the Thames river.

I am running for a charity that fights poverty in Africa's drylands while improving the environment, called Tree Aid (www.treeaid.org.uk).  This really means to me, and I would not have run if it was not for this charity.

I count on you to sponsor me and basically, believe it or not, if the fundraising hits (or even better, exceeds) the target, I will try to break the half-marathon record of 58 minutes and 33 seconds...
For your information, I did an outstanding time of 28:25 minutes at the JP Morgan Chase 5.6k run in July 08.

Well, looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks a lot for your moral and financial support!

Olivier
