Thank you very much for visiting this fundraising page. I apologise for collaring you, but hope you will agree it is a worthwhile cause.
Last year I puffed my way through my first triathlon and since then I have been training enthusiastically. The high point (though I hope not the end) of my efforts was the Royal Windsor Triathlon on Sunday, 15th June.
This triathlon consisted of a 750m swim in the River Thames (mostly upstream), then a 29 km bike ride followed by a 5.5km run, starting at 6 in the morning. And yes, that meant a 3.50 am start for my support crew: THREE CHEERS FOR ANDY.
As if that weren't bad enough I was wearing a very bright yellow T-shirt for the Banana Army (as modelled here, fetchingly cut down for fast entry and minimum wind resistance - in my dreams did that make a difference!) - to raise money for Leukaemia Research.
The nitty gritty: 21.17 (swim+transition) 55.39 (bike+transition) 28.47run = 1.45.43
in plain English = respectable swim and bike, pretty sad run!

Here is some information about leukaemia and Leukaemia Research.
Leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood cancers can affect anyone at any age. Today, in the UK alone, 110,000 men, women and children are living with blood cancers.
Sadly leukaemia is the most common cancer in children, and blood cancers are the main cause of cancer death in people under 35. Our aim is to make sure every blood cancer patient has the best chance of survival. Leukaemia Research is the only national UK charity devoted exclusively to improving treatments, finding cures and learning how to prevent all blood cancers.
All donations large or small will make a difference.
£25 could pay for a full set of booklets giving patients and their families information about their cancer when they need it most.
£50 could pay for a pioneering test to measure the number of leukaemic cells in a patient's blood, helping doctors to give appropriate doses of treatment.
£200 could buy 200 kits to extract DNA from blood samples to see if there are any genetic faults and help diagnose cancers more effectively.
I hope you can give something for this very worthwhile cause. I am in recovery with more bananas and a brilliant plan to do even better next time: run faster...
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
Thank you very much,
Olivia
