This is a huge challenge - the average Channel swim distance is 26 miles in water temperatures of 15 degrees Centigrade at best, with only goose fat and a pair of Speedos for protection! All the expenses, including the compulsory pilot boat, are already accounted for, so all the money which I raise will go directly to my three chosen charities.
I have chosen to support The Bone Cancer Research Trust because a guy who left my house at Sherborne School a few years ago was recently diagnosed with the disease. I feel very strongly that I would like to raise money to help the many teenagers and young people affected by this horrible cancer.
