My story

 

Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page. 

In April I will be (hopefully) be completing a lifelong ambition for me, I am going to run the London Marathon.

Now, I am not the fittest, nor the fattest person ever to attempt this, but whatever way you look at this 26.2 miles is a pretty big challenge. Its a challenge that I am up for, and with your help I can achieve my two goals of raising £3000 for the FSI and finishing the marathon in under 4.5 hours! 

Not only do I want your cash I want your inspiration - on my ipod. Donate some money and name a tune that you want me to listen to when I am running the marathon. You can either email this to me ogray@a4e.co.uk or suggest it in the comments box when you make a donation.

I will find the song and add it to my marathon playlist for the big day.

The FSI are a great charity that help build long-term sustainability and capacity amongst small charities.  Small charities reach millions of people throughout the UK and beyond, but due to a lack of funding nearly 4,000 close their doors every year leaving hundreds of thousands without, sometimes vital, support. A donation to the FSI ensures great small charities stay open and deliver even better services for their beneficiaries, by training them to find income streams and strategically plan for their futures.

The FSI supported Through UNITY, a coalition of family members affected by Gun, Gang and Knife crime turning a £10 donation to the FSI into £18 of advice and learning for Through UNITY, which they in turn used to raise £50 to prevent violence and help families. You don't have to be a maths student to see that makes sense and lets small charities help themselves
