Story
All a little late, but it apparently I'm running the Cardiff Half Marathon in little under three weeks, despite no training! Anyway, I will battle through as someone I know is battling through something a lot tougher.
In June this year, we received devastating news that a colleague, a friend, someone I signed my contract with, at ALDI, had been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.
She went into hospital with something unrelated and it was then they discovered she had an inoperable lung tumour.
She is now receiving treatment for this and, unsurprisingly, her endless well of optimism and naturally bubbly personality is seeing her through.
The project she has proposed we raise money for is to try and develop a blood test to help identify lung tumours earlier in people who would never be suspected of having them, such as young 20-something year old who have never smoked. Early detection gives these patients the best chance of early treatment and a positive outcome.
