Hampshire Hilly Hundred · 15 April 2009

Its overall aim is to offer the hand of friendship and support to those affected by Myotonic Dystrophy, be they patients, carers or professionals; via the helpline, newsletter, website, annual conference and local meetings. Research is also funded by the Support Group.

Story

I have less than 20 days to prepare for the genuinely challenging Hampshie Hilly Hundred, which is a 100 mile route with some testing climbs, no less than 20 in all, adding up to a total of 7847 ft/2390m. The stiffest climb is probably the ascent of Watership Down where I promise not to run over any bunnies.

Another way of putting it is the course is 46.5 Nelson's Columns and 1,760 football pitches! It will take between 6 - 7 hours to complete and (due to the inconvenience of not being able to spend time outdoors at the moment) have yet to do any training!!!!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
