Welcome to my online fundraising site. Here you will be able to sponsor me and help raise money for Scope, a charity helping people with cerebral palsy. Every 6 hours a child is born in with CP - it is NOT hereditary and can affect anyone born at any time. The disease affects the person’s ability to control muscle movements correctly. It does not affect their intelligence, and does not render them stupid!!! Just think about how easy you find it to get dressed, and then think about doing that without proper control over your arms. These people go through this struggle daily, sometimes with little or no help at all.
What am I planning to do for all your hard earned cash you ask??? See below...
My challenge is to ski down 24 peaks in 48 hours in next March. This seems nice and easy, however it is the equivalent of skiing down Everest twice.....like me this is no small feet (nice pun )! It's a total of just over 130km in all, which is nice enough in a car; however on ski's it's not quite as easy.
I completed this challenge in bad conditions in March 2007, and even managed an extra peak for good measure making it to 25. It was by far one of the most gruelling challenges I have ever done, and the pain barrier was smashed a few times. So although the challenge is for 24 peaks, I think we can get to 30 next time! It has also opened my eyes to just how much other people need help. Is your life that bad or are your financies so tight that you can't give a fiver? A tenner? Or maybe a little more? Please take some time to sponsor me. A little money from you could go a long way for someone else. Think about having one less pint this weekend and giving that little bit of cash. I will be covering the costs of the trip myself and last year donated £600 of my money for the cause, so please don't think that you are paying for a holiday - as this is the furthest from a holiday that anything could be.
