My grandmother 'Oma Muckel' would have been 100 years this year.

She died in 2002 and there is not a day when I don't think about her.

Growing up wasn't always easy and her never ending positive attitude and deep belief in god, didn't leave any room for self pity!

In her memory I will be raising money for SAFE@LAST by trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp on the 22nd November 2013. This trip is fully self funded and every £ will raised will go directly to SAFE@LAST.

Because I know that for a lot of kids there won't be a Oma Muckel there for emotional support.

Leading up to November I will be organising a range of business, social and training events to raise funds and awareness for SAFE@LAST.

The trek to Mount Everest Base Camp will take me 18 gruelling days of uphill walking and I will be leaving my husband Steven and my two kids behind. Who will face the greater challenge? Steven or me?
