Thank you for popping into our team's sponsorship page for the 2009 SCALLY RALLY - ROAD TO RIMINI.
The Scally Rally is a treasure hunt style event with a little bit of a twist, starting in Calais June 12th and running over 4 days driving to the finishing point in Rimini, Italy. Teams have to navigate over 1100 miles of Europe's most demanding roads including the famous Dolomite Mountains and Stelvio Pass. All in a car that must cost under £100 !!
Our team "One Four the Road" have entered and we consist of 4 ordinary guys (apart from one were not too sure about!) who work together in a north eastern contact centre with minimal to amateur experience in cars, this is a first time for all of us doing anything of this scale.
The chariot we have found is a 1999 Rover 400 purchased locally for £50, we have managed to get an MOT and dress it up for the occasion, the challenge we face is getting to Calais, doing the rally to Italy and then getting it back to the north east under its own steam, over 2600 miles in total.
We are entering this with our own personal funding and all work has been done by ourselves, all we ask is you spare a little cash to a local and well deserved charity as sponsorship. The Great North East Air Ambulance is a very worthy cause and unbelievably relies on pure funding from charities and people like us, if you are ever unfortunate enough to need them I assure you will not regret donating a few quid to their cause.

UPDATE 01/05/09: Due to a little extra unplanned local fundraising coming soon we have raised the target to a whopping £1000 we hope to raise for the Air Ambulance. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donations so far, to almost reach our initial target within a week is awesome and seriously appreciated.
