Story

One Match, One Pound, One United Cause

The story is a simple one...

One Thursday evening in February 2011, one of my best friends commented that her dad would've been 60 years of age that day if he had survived cancer. She asked her friends to donate to a Just Giving website in his memory. But as I typed in my £20 donation I was overwhelmed with a sense of guilt.

I felt guilty for not doing more for a cause which affects so many people in so many different ways.

I wanted to do more and I wanted to unite people.

So I came up with this idea...

I play hockey and so do thousands of people across the UK

Imagine if for one dedicated weekend in the season, every single player and official in the UK donated just £1 each.

And so One United Cause was born.

My aim is to raise £250,000 for Cancer research in five years and I believe united, we can.
