Story
Welcome to the Just Giving page for my upcoming Three Peaks Challenge on 09/08/08.
If you don’t know much about the Three Peaks Challenge, the basic premise is to climb the three highest peaks in UK in a twenty four hour period. Rather fortunately, the three peaks of Ben Nevis, Mount Snowdon and Scafell Pike are located respectively in Scotland, Wales and England so this adds a little bit of extra spice to the challenge.
Now, the climbing of three mountains in twenty four hours is tough enough, but that time period also has to include a minimum of ten hours driving – leaving fourteen hours for the actual climbing.
In order that there’s no falling asleep at the wheel, I’ll have a dedicated driver and will attempt to get a little bit of shuteye between peaks, which I’ll be climbing in the following order:
Peak number one - Ben Nevis (1344 metres)
Peak number two - Scafell Pike (978 metres)
Peak number three - Mount Snowdon (1085 metres)
If you want to see photos from each peak and find out whether I made it through in one piece, keep an eye on http://www.onlinedevelopment.co.uk for the story of the challenge.
For the vast majority of people in Sheffield and surrounding regions – not to mention many others from around the world - the Children’s Hospital has helped a loved one at some stage in our lives. For this reason, I’ve chosen the hospital as my charity for the challenge.
Donating through this page is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
If you’d like to sponsor me in any other way, please get in touch via mark@onlinedevelopment.co.uk or ring me on 0114 2835975.
Thanks for visiting and extra thanks for any donation that you have been able to make. All sponsorship is gladly received, no matter the size of the donation.
