Clive

Welcome to my fundraising page!

On Thursday 29th October until Sunday 8th November 2009, I shall be abusing my body for charity and cycling 500 km across the desert of Northern India!

Why am I doing this?

I have decided to get off my bum and raise some money for the extremely good cause that is Norwood. Norwood is one of the UK's major children and family services organisations, supporting children, families and adults coping with learning disabilities and social disadvantage. Every year Norwood helps thousands of people by providing vital, specialised care to the most vulnerable members of the community.

Am I doing this on my own?

No! I will be cycling with a large group of about 300 people, many of whom will have special needs and will need lots of help from myself and others to complete the 500 km journey.

Where will I be cycling?

We will be cycling by day and camping by night in the desert of Northern India. We will start at the beautiful Taj Mahal and cycle 60-100 miles per day until we reach the 'Pink City' of Jaipur 6 days later. Those of you that cycle will know that this is no easy task especially since the terrain is rather hilly to say the least! I have therefore started training already for it. I hope to be quite fit by October...

So if you're still reading you're probably interested, so here's a little bit more about Norwood...

"Norwood is the UK's leading charity supporting children, families and adults, coping with disabilities and social disadvantage, in the Jewish community and beyond. Every year it provides thousands of people with vital, specialised support to meet their individual needs. This gives them the opportunity to reach their potential and live life to the full.

Over 200 years old, Norwood provides a wide range of specialist services delivered by 200 staff and supported by 700 dedicated volunteers. These services are split into Children and Family Services and Adult Learning Disability Services."

If you're still not convinced, then check out www.norwood.org.uk to see the full extent of the valuable work that Norwood do in the community.

How much do I need to raise?

Quite alot! I need to raise £2750 so I really need your help. If i don't raise this amount by the time limit then I can't go...

So, get your big hands and put them into your deep pockets.

Help me to raise money for this very worthwhile cause!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Norwood gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
