Our Background

Our inspiration for this appeal is our good friend Lee Doughty who sadly passed away of Cancer in February 2007...he was just 24. Before Lee's passing, we took it upon ourselves to raise money for Cancer Research UK and give Lee something positive to look toward...this was HIS appeal! Unfortunatly, Lee's passing came before our recent good work, but his strength and courage continue to inspire us to make Operation Hoodie as successful as possible. We continue to strive to raise money for Cancer Research UK and our team believe this appeal has all the right attributes to succeed. However, we continue to need your help, so please read on, and make a worthwhile contribution to our appeal

Our Appeal

Operation Hoodie is a major charity appeal raising money and awareness for Cancer Research UK. Operation Hoodie is a unique appeal, encouraging public participation through the publishing of the publics "hoodie-related" pictures on our Operation Hoodie website. To aid this process, Operation Hoodie have designed their own special Cancer Research UK hoodies, which can be purchased on our shop (site to be published very soon!), with a percentage of all sales going straight to this great charity.

For those who don't wish to purchase our great item, we give the opportunity for people to become involved by loaning one of our hoodies (if local i.e Yorkshire) and then sending their pictures in. Operation Hoodie are particularly happy to loan our hoodies, to those who feel they can promote this appeal in any way.

Emmerdale, Soccer AM, The England Women's Cricket Team, Yorkshire County Cricket Club, England Cricket Icon Monty Panesar, Squash Stars James Willstrop & Lauren Siddall plus our many hoodie purchasers across the country!
