The orange jacket challenges are a celebration of the life of Mark Greig. Mark was a truly unique and inspirational person who died at the age of 36 from tongue cancer. The money that we raise from our challenges will go directly to the Head and Neck Cancer Research Fund based at the Western General in Edinburgh.
The first challenge we are hoping to complete will be for a group of us to run the Dunfermline Half Marathon on June 13th. The second will be a Four Peak Challenge in Glen Lyon on August 28th.
When Mark walked into my life he was wearing a bright orange jacket and from that moment on my life was never to be the same. Everyone who knew and loved Mark was inspired by his zest for life, and his love of a challenge. Everything Mark achieved in his life was through his philosophy to 'seize the day.'
Words cannot convey how much we all miss Mark but our lives were all the richer for having known him. The 'orange jacket challenges' are a chance for Mark's family and friends to continue his philosophy. To always remember the importance of seizing the day.
