Borneo Challenge · 27 August 2008

Yorkshire is one of the regions hardest hit by cancer. Together, we can change this. Yorkshire Cancer Research is a charity dedicated to finding new cancer cures and treatments and bringing them to people in Yorkshire. Our aim is for more people to survive cancer, in Yorkshire and beyond.

Story

Hi

Thank you for visiting my sponsorship site

It has been over a year since I completed the Great North Run and the time has come for a fresh challenge. It's a "slight" step up and its the Borneo Challenge, taking place between 08th May 09 - 18th May 09. The charity I am raising money for is Yorkshire Cancer Research (http://www.ycr.org.uk/web/ycr/).

It's taking place in the Sabah region of Borneo within Malaysia.

The challenge starts with a two day trek to summit the mighty Mt Kinabalu. Standing at 4,095m, it's the highest mountain in South East Asia.

Following the success of the summit climb, I will then proceed with a challenging 170km cycle ride, over 2 days, through the breathtaking Crocker Mountain Range, known as the 'Spine of Sabah'.

I will then finish this Charity Challenge with a raft down the awesome Padas River - a white knuckle ride.

All the costs associated with me taking part in this challenge had been paid for by myself.

Please dig deep and sponsor me for this very good cause

Thank you
