Story

Overview

The Kitengela Orphanage, just outside , had asked me to help raise ~£25,000 for the construction of classrooms for the children. With all your genoristiy, we will, God willing, exceed that target, due to the pledges outstanding from our last two funds!

The extra funds raised will go towards building other much needed facilities, such as an infirmiary, workshops and similar capital expenditure. Given the orphanage's excellent history in providing street children with homes, love and a future, we can rest assured that every pound donated will make a big difference to the kids' lives. To that end I ask that you all fulfill your pledges, and thank you for your generous support! I shall update the site as cheques begin coming in!

"Art of Charity" Event: Thank you

I would like to thank the Accenture Muslim Network for organising a remarkable evening, where we had ~£10k pledges made. I'd also like to thank all the artists below for their contributions, and of course all our guests on the night, who gave so generously. It is heart warming to see that humanity is still concerned about the plight of others so far away from us!

Thank you: The "Who's Who" of UK Islamic Art
Yet again the Muslim community has displayed genorisity beyond anyone's expectations, and the leading contemporary artists in the UK have donated original artwork for this Friday's event. They include:

Amina Malik, innovative calligrapher and designer : http://www.aminamalik.com/

Modaser Rasul, experienced photographer:              http://artistscircle.org.uk/

Jamil Arts, favorite of the London art scene:              http://www.jamilarts.com/

Fahdi, inspirational artist and calligrapher:               http://www.samirmalik.com/

World famous Peter Sanders:                                      http://www.petersanders.co.uk/

As well as our friends at Iqra Arts, Hassen Rasool and Sofi Baig. Their original pieces will only be available on the night, so book your tickets early to avoid disappointment!

"Our Orphans..." Event: Thank you

With the hard work of a dozen strong team, the prayers and well wishes of hundreds, and the support and donation of our 100+ guests, we had a very beautiful evening at the Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre. We thank all those who participated on the evening, and ask that all pledges be fulfilled before the 7th of April, as we hope to transfer the funds to Kitengela at that stage to start the building works.

Kind regards,
Adil Malik
