Fauna & Flora International (FFI) was the world's first international conservation organisation, established in 1903. Our vision is of a sustainable future for the planet, where biodiversity is effectively conserved by the people who live closest to it, supported by the global community.

Story

Dear Friends

Well, we did it - both my pal Paul Mathew and I completed the Marathon des Sables and raised about £9,500 between us for Fauna & Flora International's projects. The photo shows us looking extremely relieved shortly after completing the last leg of the race. Paul raced very well, coming in 152nd out of 587 starters, and I limped in 234th. My total running time for the 150 miles was about 37 hours.

A big thank you to all of my dear friends, colleagues, sponsors and well wishers for your pledges, donations and words of encouragement.

Small amounts of sponsorship are still coming in, and so I will leave this page open for a few more days. I will shortly, as promised, be distributing to all my sponsors a short account of my Moroccan stroll.
