UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...

Hello! Thanks for visiting.

It's thank you time! This all started when I was asked to take part in the Leeds Abbey Dash 'fun run' (there's a contradiction in terms!) by Martin Holden - so, rather than run aimlessly, I decided I'd have a go at raising some money for the National Autistic Society, in whose work I have a personal interest.

So, in return for having hoofed around in a touch under 55 minutes (not bad for a knacker!),  the NAS has benefited from the donations of many generous friends, colleagues and even people not known to me. To all of you - a warm and big thank you!

In addition to the run, I organised an impromptu get together at the excellent Le Cafe Bleu in Bradford raising another £550.00. Again, much, much appreciation to all of you who came along and made the event such a success. particular thanks to the Relay people who were prepared to inflict extra time on themselves with me - all in a good cause.

Thanks to Brandon who elected not to do the Christmas card thing this year -instead donating proceeds to the charity.

Special thanks to Pace Micro for their generous donation and in particular, Pam Haigh for being instrumental in getting the NAS on the Pace charity radar.

I have converted cash collected to a cheque made out to the NAS - once I've received acknowledement - I'll drop everyone a copy. In total - it's looking like about £2600.00 - proper bo a tell thee!

Finally, maybe some of you saw the recent series of documentaries and dramas covering Autism. Hopefully an insight to how frustrating the condition can be for all involved.

And there you have it! the reason for the fundrasing in the first place. My children; Oscar and Barney benefit from a lifestyle that helps to mitigate aspects of their condition - the probability is that one or both will be with us as adults, again something we're equipped to manage and support- however, we are mindful that other children and adults are less much fortunateAccess to special education alone is a minefield - one that my wife Vicki has had to give her career up to negotiate. The NAS amongst many other things, provide critical support to parents working against the bureaucracy and ignorance that still exists.

So, for those of you that have or choose to give here, be assured that your help WILL make an immediate and continuing positive impact on the lives of people dealing with an exhausting and frustrating life long condition.

Again..........

THANK YOU - HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!
