I have a lovely friend and work colleague, Laura who has been recovering for the last 12 months or so from the devastating condition that is Guillian Barre. Try to imagine, if you will, one day functioning normally moaning about the world and the next paralyzed from the neck down with incredible pain all over your body, because your nerves have been attacked by your immune systems due to a bug caught eating something dodgey. Then this is a snap shot of the dramatic events that Laura has been coping with for the past year. Laura is an incredible character who has been so brave going through an unimaginable process of rehabilitation with great success. She is also now medical advisor to the GB society. Her recovery has been an inspiration, help me raise some money for this worthy charity!!
