24 Hour Run · 5 December 2008

The School raises money for a range of local, national and international charities, with a special emphasis on children's charities.

Story

Zoe Kier (New House L6)and Steph Smith (Dryden L6)have been very keen to do a fundraising event in order to raise money for two different charities - Multiple Sclerosis Trust and Kimbo School in Kenya.  MS is a charity which has great significance to Zoe as one of her relatives is suffering from this disease.  Kimbo School, Kenya is a school which I have visited and wish to help due to it's poor and limited facilities, yet contented and happy environment.

We spent a long time considering how we could raise money for these worthwhile charities and came up with the idea of doing a 24 hour run.  However, there was the obvious problem that we were unable to do this alone.  Miranda Spencer, Alice Wilson, Imi Harris, Emily Kier, Bryony Normanton, Cathy Tuke, Sarah Bury, Lou Troughton, Alex Mayfield, Flora Cadzow, Abi Smith, Laura Diggens, Em Westwood, Ella Whitley and Chloe Smith are all participating in this unique event.   We are all going to run in pairs, so throughout the 24 hours, everyone will run approximately 4 hours. This will be done in stages throughout the period of time, as the format will be like a relay, you run 20 minutes and the next pair take over.

We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for these charities and however much money we raise will be divided equally between the two.

Thank you very much for taking time to read this page, and if you are able to make a donation, the charities and both Zoe and I will be very grateful.

Thanks, Steph and Zoe xxx

p.s. thanks to Chloe for stepping in after Zoe broke her collar bone!!!
