In August last year our whole world fell apart when our 4 year old daughter Ashleigh was diagnosed with Cancer. A massive tumour was discovered on her kidney known as a Wilms Tumour. Following initial chemotherapy to shrink the tumour both it and her right kidney were successfully removed. Since the operation she has been undergoing a further 7 months of chemotherapy to ensure no further spread. She has been so brave throughout this whole experience, we think she is amazing! Thankfully her prognosis is very good.
It is only once you face this situation that you can truly understand the huge impact this has on not just your child but the entire family. Not even just siblings and immediate family but friends and colleagues too are deeply affected. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful family and a great bunch of friends for support, however not everyone is so lucky. It is for this reason we wanted to do something to raise money for ClicSargent, a fantastic charity that not only researches childhood cancers but provides the very much needed support families in this awful situation deserve.
Ashleigh’s dad Ally and 5 of his friends, Pete Caswell, Matt Holland, Jeff Hickling, Michelle Raw and Martin Massey have decided to tackle the 3 Peaks Challenge on 6th / 7th September this year. The aim of the challenge is to climb Ben Nevis, Sca-fell Pike and Snowdon in 24hrs (including driving time)! The desperate fitness regime has already begun as most of them have no experience whatsoever of this kind of challenge
To follow their progress visit www.ourchallenge.co.uk and help us reach our target of £10,000.
Thank you.
