" I have known Amiril and Ruth for about 17 years, since we were all in first year at secondary school. It has been amazing to see them grow up together and get married.
I was given the great honour of being best man at their wedding and look forward to being a part of their lives for many years to come. They are a fantastic couple with big hearts and both myself, and my girlfriend Nicki, consider it a privilege to run a half marathon in memory of their son Sufyan.
Please give generously, they mean the world to us and we would really like to help them raise even more money for the Heart Appeal at Birmingham Children's Hospital in honour of Sufyan.Thank you,
Jake and Nicki "
Jacob is one of our oldest friends and him and Nicki mean a lot to us. We were very touched that they ran in memory of Sufyan despite the fact they never got to meet our little man. We’re very impressed with their impressive times, its clear they have trained very hard!! They are doing a great job raising money to help other babies and children with poorly hearts. Help them make an impact by sponsoring them generously.

Congratulations to the Spectacular Six Half-Marathon runners !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A massive Well Done and Thank You to Amiril & Farul Hoq, Kim & Pete Thomond, Paul Byerley and Peter Brown for their sterling efforts and tremendous achievement in completing the Birmingham Black Country Half Marathon on Saturday (3rd July). The course ran along the canal side, from Wolverhampton to Birmingham, negotiating bridges, tunnels and narrow tow paths....by no means a straight forward jog in the park!!!
With finishing times ranging from 1 hour 53 minutes to 3 hours 15, it was a day to be proud of for all 6 of them!!! The sponsorship money they've raised for the Heart Appeal completely smashed our target and took us above the £3k mark so thank you to everyone who has shown their support by giving so generously.
Have a look at the few photos of the day here (on the left), despite the throbbing feet, aching muscles and sore joints, (and that's just the spectators!) we all had such a feel-good day, knowing our efforts will have made Sufyan proud.
Who knows?....we might even make it an annual event..........fancy joining us next time???
Thanks again to the runners and their sponsors........any 'well done' donations welcome now.
Unique Handmade Jewellery by Ruth
About a month ago, in search of something fresh and fun to occupy my mind, I had a go at making some beads using polymer clay……I got totally addicted and now I can’t stop!! So…..I have loads of funky handmade necklaces and bracelets available to buy and will be giving 50% of the proceeds to the Heart Appeal. The other 50% will buy me more clay so I can get mixing new colours and trying out new ideas. Check out photo number 6 on the left of this page to see some examples and if you like the look of what you see….let me know and I’ll bring my collection to a table near you!!!
Love from Ruth
p.s. A big thanks to those of you who bought items from my ‘debut range’. A whopping £68.50 raised so far!!

Jacob & Nicki ran INCREDIBLE TIMES in the Nottingham Half Marathon on Sunday 12th Sep in memory of Sufyan.
Our awesome (and slightly mad) friends Paul and Peter are running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 10th April in memory of our gorgeous little man Sufyan and in aid of the Birmingham Children's Hospital's Heart Appeal - neither have ran a full marathon before - so please show your support by sponsoring them generously - they're going to need it to get through 'the wall'.

Hey you!
Thanks so much for checking out our Justgiving page, it's great that you want to help a cause that is very close to our hearts.
Our super boy Sufyan was born with a complex heart condition and spent all of his short life under the care of the fantastic cardiac team at Birmingham Children's Hospital. The Hospital's Red Balloon Appeal this year needs to raise £2 million towards the £12 million project to build brand new state of the art cardiac facilities for babies and children with poorly hearts just like Sufyan.
Our best days with Sufyan were spent on one of the cardiac wards but Sufyan also put up a brave fight during his stay in Intensive Care. The money raised by the Heart Appeal will fund additional Intensive Care beds for cardiac patients as well as go towards building a new cardiac theatre.
The amazing team of staff at Birmingham Children's Hospital continue to give their care and support to us as parents and we are eternally grateful for everything they did for us and for Sufyan during the time we spent there. We hope by raising some money for the Heart Appeal this year, we can show how much we admire their work and support their cause, to offer the very best care and treatment to babies and children with heart conditions.
Sufyan was our world, and we can't believe how someone so tiny, here for such a short time, can have had such an impact. We hope that our amazing son Sufyan inspires you to give a little and think a lot about how we can make a difference to such an important cause so other families with special heart children can have a long and healthy life together.
We'd love to hear your fundraising ideas so together we can exceed our target!! Every penny counts so just give what you can, no matter how small.
Thanks again, love from Ruth & Amiril xxx
