Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Owens JustGiving page.

I want to raise money for Owen, by raising more funds to help us continue Owens physio in the hope that one day he may run, just like his dad.

Owen  has Spastic Diplegic Cerebral palsy. One of the symptoms that affected Owen was tightness in his legs, so he was unable stand or to walk independently. In December 2012, one of Owen dreams came true and the Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy operation, paid for from your generous donations and the help of Caudwell Chidlren, was carried out. Since then Owen has been able to take small independent steps but still requires daily physiotherapy. Much of this physio is not available on the NHS, so I am are fundraising to ensure that Owen has the best chance to improve.

Owen is committed to his treatment, daily at home, weekly at a local physio centre and intensive therapy twice a year. He is making the most of every day; he loves football, especially Manchester United and as he can now now walk independently he plays as a goalie for his local team. With further intensive physio and specialist equipment Owen’s doctor’s, and his family, believe that one day he will run independently too.

All of your donations will go directly to support Owen

HELP OWEN WALK - *Thank you for your support – Owen’s operation was a huge success, but we still need your help. Please help Owen to walk*

Owen is 5 years old and has Spastic Diplegic Cerebral palsy. One of the symptoms that affected Owen was tightness in his legs, so he was unable stand or to walk independently. In December 2012, one of Owen dreams came true and the Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy operation, paid for from your generous donations, was carried out. Since then Owen has been able to take small independent steps but still requires daily physiotherapy. Much of this physio is not available on the NHS, so we are fundraising to ensure that Owen has the best chance to improve.

Owen is committed to his treatment, daily at home, weekly at a local physio centre and intensive therapy twice a year. Can you help support Owen?

He is making the most of every day; he loves football, especially Manchester United and he plays as a goalie but currently has to play kneeling. However with further intensive physio and specialist equipment Owen’s doctor’s, and his family, believe that one day he will walk independently outdoors. All of your donations will go directly to support Owen and other children like him, thank you for your help.

National charity, Caudwell Children, is supporting Owen and other children like him by raising money to fund ground breaking treatments and physiotherapy which can help children with Cerebral Palsy walk independently for the first time. For more details please contact Caudwell Children on 01782 600114 or email ben.sutcliffe@caudwellchildren.com

Important note to donors: As long as Owen requires the funds raised to pay for treatment in the United States, post-operative physiotherapy or equipment Caudwell Children will manage payments of funds for the family and other children like Owen. Should there come a time that, for whatever reason, Owen no longer needs the funds raised for treatment then they shall be used to help other disabled children through the charity, Caudwell Children. Owen has also decided that he would like to raise funds to support other children locally, so 15% of all future donations will be used for this purpose.
