Story
Some of you will be aware of the unique nature of next Friday 29th February - the only 'extra' day in the calendar that falls on a Friday for 28 years. You may also be aware that Cancer Research are promoting the day as a 'Make It Count' day.
I am proposing an OWLSTALKATHON - the first event of its kind on a Sheffield Wednesday messageboard and hopefully the first of what can become an annual event.
With your help I aim to raise £10,000 on the day - and I think that is very achievable. If we can get 1000 members of the site to donate £10 each - that will do it straight away. However, I am also suggesting an Ebay Auction for some top class items - and I'm appealing for your help with that. Is there anything you can donate to this cause that you feel that other members may well want? If so - we will be having an Ebay thread at www.owlstalk.co.uk where you can list your items for members to bid - knowing that any money raised will be going to a very worthwhile cause.
On this occasion - I am going to suggest Weston Park - as obviously it's very dear to my heart right now. This will be a BIG fundraiser - and hopefully a great way of celebrating what we clearly hope will be good news in the near future.
Many thanks for your support.
