Story
At the beginning of November I spent a life changing week in Kolkata, India, with the Hope Foundation visiting their various projects, capturing a series of moving images in order to help raise awareness of their work with the slum and street children.
I'm very aware that whilst I'm now back enjoying all the things that most people take for granted in a first world country, life for them carries on in the same desperate way as it always has. Therefore on top of providing the Hope Foundation with the portfolio of images I would like to do more to help them improve the lives of the children and families.
Why £1,532? Well the photograph above shows me having the great honour of cradling Sahasra, a 2 week old little girl. Sahasra ('a new beginning'), is trying to survive along with many other children and families in the slums by the (working!) railway lines without access to clean water or any medical care. So £1,353 will pay for 250 slum families to get clean water and £180 will pay for 10 Hope street medical packs.
Each £1 donated will make a HUGE difference to the lives of the children of Kolkata, helping to lift them out of abject poverty. Thank you for your support!
