I am really happy to be given the opportunity to make a difference with Ycare International. I believe that no matter where you were born, young people should have equal opportunities. 

This is why on the 26TH OF JANUARY (Yes, just over two months to raise £800, please donate!) I'll begin my journey to work within a local community for 10 weeks to help improve the younger generation's chance of having a better start in life.

YCare International is part of International Citizen Service (ICS), which brings young people together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most.  I’ll be working alongside volunteers from the UK and the country I am volunteering in, on a project developing and strengthening young people’s skills and educating them. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help.  It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

I need to raise £800 for Ycare International who are one of the respected development charities that deliver ICS.  This will allow them to continue to bring about positive change in the developing communities where they work.  You can check out their inspiring work here: http://www.volunteerics.org/

You can keep track of how I get on here on my JustGiving page. I'm currently interning in London so I'm going to do my bit here and then come home to Yorkshire to do more fundraising! Any contribution from you will make a real difference to the lives of people in developing countries, so please dig deep!  The money I raise will enable more young people to participate in ICS on sustainable development programmes.
