The St Leonard's Wheelers 250 miles cycle ride · 24 May 2014

St Leonard’s Hospice is an independent charity, providing care and support for local people with life limiting illnesses. We have an In-patient Unit, Sunflower Centre and Hospice@Home service. Our care is free of charge to patients and their families but not free to provide.

Story

10 years ago my Grandma and Grandad lost their respective battles with cancer within 16 days of each other. During their illnesses they had respite time at St Leonard's Hospice and spent their final months there.  The Hospice not only made my Grandparents' time there peaceful and comfortable, they also offered support to our family both during their battle with cancer but also afterwards.

Dad wanted to do something special to remember my Grandparents and to say a big thank you to a very hard working and remarkable charity.

The St Leonard's Wheelers were formed and include Dad, me, my other half Jonathan and our friends Gaz and Peter.  With support from Chris who is driving and looking after us (hopefully he will have lunch set up for us each day ;-) )We are going to cycle the Trans Pennines Trail, a total of 250 miles from Southport to Hornsea over 3 days from 24th May to 26th May 2014.

Anything that you could sponsor us would be greatly appreciated by us and St Leonard's Hospice. We hope the money we raise will go on to help other sufferers of life threatening illnesses, their families and allow St Leonard's Hospice to continue to offer amazing care and support.

Thank you

Peter H, Emma, Jonathan, Gaz, Peter C and Chris
