Story

So its two months to the London marathon and I've signed up...

I don't run never have and until now never thought I would, but upon finding out that my uncle had cancer the thought occurred that it would be a good thing to do something positive when facing something negative. Sadly David after a short but valiant fight has now passed away which makes this all the more important.

But back to not being remotely ready for this. I haven't been running since school and at the moment do very little exercise. The evidence of this being my having to purchase the only thing you really need... trainers. When coupled  with lifestyle choices and perhaps a bit to much drinking I believe that I may have been a bit foolhardy

The training will now start in earnest but I doubt I've left enough time to truly spare myself from abject pain and embarrassment (free entertainment for those who wish to watch).

The charity that I am running this for is Macmillan cancer care, the inspiration for this is as I mentioned earlier that David my uncle has just lost his fight with disease. But they are also a charity that thinking back has cared so well for other people around me. They provide care, practical advice and also someone to talk to and answer questions about all aspects of living with cancer. This is a service that can only come from donations which last year totaled over £154 million and this is apparently where my spending a day (then possibly several afterwards) in abject pain and misery. So please sponsor me firstly to carry on the work done by this great charity and secondly so that my suffering is not in vain.
