As most of you will know I have been working within Woodbury Registered Care Home for more than 20 years.

It has been a privilege to care for adults with a learning disability and I have met some incredible people during my career. None more so than Julie, a lady infamous for her independent spirit, warm heart and forthright manner. 

At the beginning of this year Julie lost her battle with cancer. The final few days of her life were spent at Princess Alice Hospice in Esher. Balance CIC ensured that our own staff were a constant presence throughout her short stay and both Julie and staff were provided with an exceptional level of care and support by everyone who worked there. 

Hopefully by raising funds via the Over the Edge sponsored Abseil we can give something back, express our thanks and honour Julie's memory.

I am extremely grateful for all donations.

P.S. I'm really not that keen on heights - 90ft isn't that tall is it?
