Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a Mental Health Nurse in an Older Adult Mental Health Team I see the effects of Dementia on a daily basis, both on the person experiencing the symptoms and on those who support and care. I never fail to be amazed by the resilience of people and how much energy and love goes into meeting the challenges of these illnesses. The support of charities such as the Alzheimer's Society are often a lifeline to people who would otherwise be isolated and afraid.

On a personal note I experienced a health change this year and as a result I made a decision to be more proactive in managing my health and living better. I have lost some weight (still more to go) and have started exercising on a regular basis.

A 10km walk may not seem much, but as a 41 year old former committed couch potato, it is something of a challenge to me!!!!
