12 years ago my dad had a heart by-pass, unfortunately he recently passed away and he had written a letter saying he wanted the donations from his funeral to go to the British Heart Foundation. I had luckily secured a ballot place in the London Marathon and I was trying to decide what charity to run for so when I read the letter my mind was made up.  The heart by-pass gave me 12 extra years with my dad.
