Cornerstone Day Centre has been providing services for people in need since 1991 in a warm and friendly environment, upholding dignity, giving hope and rebuilding broken lives. Since Winter 2015 Cornerstone runs the Safe Haven night provision or pods which started as a temporary measure but continues to answers the needs to prevent rough sleeping and saving lives. In Winter 2018-19, the Cornerstone accommodated up to 31 people who would otherwise be rough sleeping on the streets or in tents around Manchester.
Whilst running the night provision, Cornerstone Day Centre opens its door to people facing a wide range of issues from homelessness, poverty, social isolation, poor mental health, drug and alcohol addictions. Cornerstone serves hot food, sandwiches and hot drinks throughout the day, provides shower and laundry facilities, clothing shop, free haircuts, and a computer suite to help people apply for jobs, volunteering, housing, benefits and immigration.
