Story
Once upon a time there were three Musketeers in Santander UK: Svetlana, Rachel and Aleks. In 2015 they decided to take up on a challenge and opted to run the Brighton Marathon in April. They wanted to make an impact by doing something they have never done in support for people with challenging behaviors and learning disabilities. However, they needed one more person to complete the team and help with the challenge and were joined by Sergio (a.k.a. D'Artagnan) from MENA Chambers.
So for the last few months the Four Musketeers have been training and they keep on training, running along the streets of London and building up kilometers. People started asking: ‘What is their secret?’. The Musketeers responded: ‘You train a lot and you eat right…practice, protein, practice smoothie, practice cupcake…’ But hey guys, don’t make it a habit, a visit to the bakery is only allowed after at least a 24km run!
The Four Musketeers will be taking part of the Brighton Marathon on 12th April 2015 in support of a charity called Us In A Bus and they are hoping to raise a minimum of £ 1,500 which will be matched by Santander.
Us in a Bus is a charity closed to the heart of the Santander Corporate Healthcare team. The charity provides specialist services for people who have profound learning disabilities or complex needs, all of whom find communication a challenge. The aim of the work Us In A Bus team do is to create opportunities through intensive interaction (incl. training workshops, coaching, mentoring, art lessons) for these people to fully express themselves.
We would be delighted if you can sponsor Svetlana, Rachel, Aleks and Sergio in their challenge to run the full Brighton Marathon (you can bet on timing!) on behalf of Santander Corporate Healthcare team as well as to make a meaningful contribution to Us In A Bus.
Thank you.
