Is this a step too far?
A virile team of ten fit madmen are going to strap me into a wheel chair. Then attach planks to the wheels so that they can carry me in sedan chair mode,(there the gentility ends).
They are:- Mary Dewey, Phil Hutfield, Ben Keen, Gurpal Panesar, Ian Ruddick, Mark Sinclair, Rob Spreckley and more. We then set off around the base of Snowdon where we have to find our own path through streams, bogs, mud, rocks, vegetation and up and down the contours. From the chair I will be urging them to run faster to beat the other teams taking part. It will take somewhere between 3 or 4 hours to race the 10K of the challenge, with stewards along the way checking they haven't tipped me out in order to go faster! I think I am in for a very bumpy ride and may do a bit of shouting, even screaming as we go!
I'm torn between my MS bringing me exciting challenges with lovely madmen and the other side of extreme discomfort, terror, a lot of mud and the risk of more cracked ribs. It is worth all this trouble though because the progression of the MS could force me into a dependent, inactive, silent place of being where I will need every memory of fun I can muster. The MS centre helps me and tens of others to stave off that day and my aim is to raise funds to support them. Currently there is an opportunity to have a new brick built centre so that we can leave the portacabin and have better facilities. Please help.
