We did it! We reached 498 runs in total and skiied our hardest all day! It was a tough 6 hours! We will continue to raise money until the end of June for this fantastic Charity. We hope to raise as much as possible.
Yesterday, Tuesday May 17th, Rupert, Neil, Eve, Franki, Ellie and Harriet from The Oxford Ski Company took part part in the Disability Snowsport UK's National Skiathon!! The challenge was to ski 666 runs in 6 hours at one of 6 UK indoor ski slopes. We chose the Sno!zone, Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire. We want to make a difference to those people less able than ourselves in doing something we all love and share a passion for - skiing!
Established in 1980 Disability Snowsport UK brings people living with disabilities the chance to experience the thrill and joy of skiing alongside, on an equal basis with, able-bodied helpers. The intention is to enhance quality of life for disabled people through fitness, mobility, freedom, social interaction and independence and also to identify and nurture potential athletes and help disabled people to conquer the barriers that confront them in daily life.
