Story
In February 2027, I will take on one of the toughest endurance races on the planet — the 'Beyond the Ultimate' - Arctic Ultra.
Over five days, I will cover 230 kilometres across the frozen wilderness of Swedish Lapland, in temperatures that can fall to -40°C.
But this challenge is about far more than distance. It’s about purpose.
Motor Neurone Disease continues to devastate families, teammates, and communities.
As someone closely connected to the rugby world, I have been inspired by the courage shown by players I have idolised who have or are now battling this disease. The strength. The dignity. The fight.
That fight is why I’m stepping forward.
I am proud to be raising funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, whose mission is to fund vital research and support for those living with MND.
I am choosing to test my limits — because many living with MND no longer have that choice.
Every kilometre I run is in recognition of someone losing the ability to move.
The Journey: Driving Beyond
The Arctic Ultra is the final chapter.
Over the next 12 months, I will undertake a series of major endurance events as part of the 90 Degrees North “Driving Beyond” campaign:
-London Marathon
-Marathon du Mont Blanc
-230km Beyond the Ultimate Arctic Ultra
Each race builds towards the next.
Each mile carries the message forward.
Why It Matters
MND takes movement away.
This campaign is about movement in its most powerful form.
it’s about pushing beyond comfort.
Beyond expectation.
Beyond perceived limits.
And using that journey to fund the research that could one day stop this disease.
How You Can Help
Your donation — of any size — directly supports the groundbreaking research funded by My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
If you can give, thank you.
If you can share, that matters just as much.
Together, we can drive change.
Together, we can drive beyond.
