I'M RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON 2025!!

In 2024 I set out to raise money for Alzheimer's Society, CBRE's corporate charity partner, as my Grandma was living with Dementia. Some days she was non-verbal, other days she could only give one word answers, or asked after my Grandad who died in 2009, but everyday she lived entirely dependent on 24 hour care and everyday she faded away a little more. I think what I found the hardest was knowing she’ll never remember the moments I’ll never forget.

2024 saw me start cycling and complete:

• Ride London 60 - May 2024

• CBRE Great Property Bike Ride - June 2024

• London to Brighton - September 2024

As well as other charity initiatives in between, raising £1,060 for Alzheimer's Society!

Unfortunately, in August my Grandma lost her battle with Dementia. I absolutely did not think we'd lose my lovely Grandma so close to the end of my fundraising. However....

In July 2024, I gained a ballot place in THE LONDON MARATHON 2025!!

If you know me, it is actually laughable how out of character this is for me, but nevertheless, I have decided to extend my fundraising efforts into 2025.

I always knew that if I got in the ballot I would raise money for Alzheimer's Society, however with the loss of my Grandma, it couldn't be more fitting. I know she will be with me every step of the way as a reminder that just because my family's journey with Dementia is over for now, for so many other people it's their reality every single day.

Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer and one in three of us will fall victim to this viscous disease.

Raising £115 could buy a years' worth of weekly check-in calls for someone living with dementia, helping to rid a life of loneliness.
