Story
One evening, my girlfriend Chloe started having slurred and stuttered speech and pins and needles in her arm. At first medical professionals thought that Chloe might of had a TIA or mini stroke however, after an MRI scan it was revealed that Chloe has in fact got a benign brain tumour called a meningioma about the size of a golf ball in the front part of her brain.
For Chloe and everyone around her this has been a complete shock and a very upsetting find at the age of 32.
Since this discovery Chloe has experienced similar episodes of slurring, stuttered speech and it is thought these may be seizures linked to the tumour. This diagnosis has resulted in Chloe being told that she is not allowed to drive for about 1 year and will have to have brain surgery to remove the tumour at some point in the near future.
The brain tumour charity has stepped in and is helping Chloe a tremendous amount with offering support such as weekly counselling and also providing advice such as how to apply for a free bus pass and how she can talk to and support her 5 year old daughter throughout this stressful time. This guidance and support will continue through her surgery and recovery.
The brain tumour charity offer services and help completely free of charge. So I would like to raise money for this special charity in the form of trekking up Ben Nevis in Scotland the highest mountain in the UK, 4,413ft high. I will be doing this challenge Easter 2024 to raise money on behalf of Chloe for the brain tumour charity.
So please give what you can do this amazing charity, that’s helping my girlfriend Chloe.
