For Marnie’s birthday this year, instead of gifts, we’d like to ask for a donation to Heart Link Children’s Charity.

As most of you know, we were fully expecting to be in hospital for Marnie’s 4th heart surgery at some point in February. However after much discussion, the team at LRI have decided to delay surgery further, which is amazing news. She really is the strongest girl we know.

Over the past 3 years we’ve been on ward one more times than I can count now. Surgeries, sedated scans, blood tests, an MRI. And the one constant, that gives comfort and support is Heart Link. They provide so much to help the children and families.

So for Marnie’s birthday, if you were thinking of getting her a gift, please donate instead. (She will get a few things from us so she won’t go without don’t worry!) But Marnie has everything she needs right now. And the biggest gift of all, time. Time to grow. To become stronger. To be in the best possible position for her new valve.
