We are so very excited to have signed up to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime challenge for Blythe House Hospice.

In March 2025, we will be trekking 50km across the incredible Moroccan Sahara Desert.

We hope you’ll consider sponsoring us for this incredible challenge. Your generous donation – no matter how big or small – will make a huge difference to patients and their loved ones in our hometown of Buxton and across North Derbyshire.

As I, Amy work as Hospcie at Home and Roaming Car Coordinator at Blythe House. I see first hand the incredible differnce that the charity makes everyday. The service enables local people to die in the comfortable and safe surroundings of their own home, with their loved ones beside them.

The hospice provides specialist services including care in the comfort of patient’s homes; counselling and bereavement sessions for both adults and children; physiotherapy, occupational therapy; expert nursing care and complementary therapies.

Here are some examples of what your donation would go towards supporting:

• £35 will buy a bereaved child a specialist book and a memory box for them to remember their loved one as a child should

• £200 will fund 10 hours of specialist support for a family learning to come to terms with a life-limiting illness diagnosis

• £250 will provide a patient with 10 physiotherapy sessions to help them to cope with the mobility effects of their illness

• £1,080 allows our Hospice at Home team to be with four patients for a full night; giving their loved ones a worry-free night’s sleep
