London to Paris 286 miles · 19 June 2025

We support people in the north of Scotland who are affected by cancer or a blood disorder. Working hand-in-glove with the NHS, we take care of the ‘big little things’, and we fund cutting-edge equipment and research. Every penny makes an impact as our operating costs are covered by Balmoral Group.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

From the 19th to the 23rd June 2025, I will be cycling 286 miles by road bike from London to Paris with the schedule as follows:

Day One: London to Calais – 81 miles & 4300 feet ascent

Day Two: Calais to Arras – 72 miles & 3700 feet ascent

Day Three: Arras to Compiegne – 76 miles & 3000 feet ascent

Day Four: Compiegne to Paris – 57 miles & 3000 feet ascent.

I am doing this journey to raise funds for Friends of Anchor, knowing that I have endured my own personal journey with cancer, which came with many challenges throughout that time that I did not choose.

This cycle is a personal challenge of my choice, an event of this scale that I have never done before. For those who know me, you understand this is not my normal style. I will be joined on this challenge with Robert, where we will be supporting each other on this test of endurance and stamina.

I have chosen to do this for Friends of Anchor because earlier this year as I volunteered as a model at Brave 2025, I am standing on a catwalk beside twenty-three Brave brothers, where everyone there has their own journey and story to be told. Each of us is strutting our stuff, in many styles never to be unseen nor replicated again to help raise funds for a tremendous charity.

So, I humbly ask for your support on this cycle challenge, I am willing to eat French Cuisine (frogs legs / snails),if you donate a little more and put in that request😊

I will do a daily blog on the journey, or a brag as I will be achieving each milestone to keep everyone updated.

The whole trip is self-funded by myself, nothing is paid for from donations, every penny donated will go towards my target, that penny or pound will help others on their journey fully supported by Friends of Anchor.

The ANCHOR Unit (Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy) is a collective of specialised wards and clinics within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. It is the central hub of cancer and haematology care for the north of Scotland.

Uniquely, every penny of every pound donated to Friends of ANCHOR goes to the cause because our administration costs, including the salaries of the six fundraising team members, are fully covered by Aberdeen company Balmoral Group - as they have been since the charity was founded.

All the money raised is invested in medical equipment, research, and person-centred wellbeing—resources from which I have personally benefited.

Thank you very much for reading this and a huge thank you for any donation given.
