Story
Raising funds for Haven's Hospice, Essex
In July, five swimmers—James, Clare, Stuart, Maddy, and Drew—will take on the English Channel in a relay swim to raise funds for Haven's Hospice, a brilliant charity in Essex that provides compassionate care to people with life-limiting illnesses. Haven’s is entirely self-funded, which makes every donation all the more meaningful.
The Challenge
While some of us have crossed the Channel before, this time it’s a relay, which brings its own unique set of challenges. Each swimmer will take turns in the water, battling cold temperatures, strong tides, and the occasional floating surprise—then warming up just enough to do it all over again.
The Channel is never predictable. It’s cold, it’s vast, and it doesn’t care how well you trained. But we’re ready to take it on as a team.
Why We're Doing It
We’re swimming to support Haven’s Hospice because their work truly matters. They offer care, dignity, and comfort to people when they need it most—and they rely entirely on donations to do so.
How You Can Help
Please consider donating to our page. Every pound helps Haven’s continue their incredible work, and gives us a little extra motivation when we’re halfway across and wondering why we didn’t just ask Stuart to do a sponsored silence.

Thank you for your support.
