The Cure CJD campaign has been set up by a group of individuals, personally affected by the disease, to support the work of researchers & doctors at the MRC Prion Unit at UCL and NHS National Prion Clinic at UCLH. We are a fund within UCLH Charity.

Story

Support us to find a cure for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). There is currently no cure but every day scientists and doctors are getting closer to finding a treatment. We aim to raise funds to support the use of an antibody drug developed for the treatment of patients with CJD. The first patient was treated at UCLH in October 2018.

Our mum sadly passed away just after four months of being diagnosed. Mum was acting different maybe three months before ,it took months of test and X-rays and then finaly MRI scan. And then Two weeks after she got a call on the Sunday, that’s when we knew something was wrong, when the doctors said CJD the whole family was shocked , we had never heard of it. We as a family would like to help find not just a cure but maybe faster diagnosis so we could have more time with our mum. She was taken far too soon xxx
