Story
In a few weeks, I’ll be running the 55km Beyond London Ultra in support of my friend Andrew Baker and his incredible charity, Play2Give.
I don’t care how much you donate — even £1 will make a world of difference to the causes Andrew supports.
Andrew's journey is one of resilience, determination and selflessness. Born with a brain injury, he underwent major brain surgery at 12, yet came out of it with a mission: to give back to the Oxford medical teams who saved his life — not once, but twice.
He began fundraising at just 14, inspiring his school and local community to join him. Over the last 23 years, Andrew has raised over £570,000 for local causes, including £116,000 for the Oxford Children’s Hospital, where his name now sits proudly on a plaque of honour.
Despite living with ongoing health challenges, he never stops helping others. Whether it’s children’s health, disability support, or delivering gifts to families through his “Sleigh2Give” initiative, Andrew’s impact continues to grow — and so does his determination.
Running 55km is nothing compared to the lifelong marathon of giving Andrew has undertaken. So if you can spare anything at all — seriously, even a quid — it’ll go straight towards something meaningful.
