13 Lakes (wild swimming) In Support Of Muscular Dystrophy UK

13 Lakes · 12 July 2025
I'm challenging myself to swim 71 km in 13 wild lakes and cycle 185 km between them over the challenging terrain of England's Lake District, all in 4 days. It's the biggest physical challenge of my life and I'm starting it on my 60th birthday. Currently, the challenge has only been completed by three people.
I'm asking my generous supporters to help me raise funds to fight Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting and weakening condition that affects 110,000 people in the UK, including my good friend Nausheen Ahmed who suffers from HIBM/GNE Myopathy.
Living with a muscle wasting and weakening condition can be exhausting, stressful and lonely. With endless medical appointments, physiotherapy, treatments and respiratory support. Knowing Nausheen over the last 10 years, I have been saddened to see how this terrible degenerative condition has affected her life and restricted her independence
Please donate generously to Muscular Dystrophy UK to help them fund groundbreaking research and practical support to those affected.
