Story

We shared a love for sport. A love for theatre, for dance.
You taught me to love nature and the outdoors. To appreciate the simple things.
You showed me that travelling the world and holidays are what you work hard for.
You inspired me to follow in your footsteps and become a teacher.
You showed me how to have a kind heart but be a strong woman.
Dementia took your memories Grandma, but it could not take the life you lived, the family you built or the love you gave to so many.
On 18th February, I held your hand and kissed you goodbye. I feel like I've lost a huge part of me.
But now you are free. Free from confusion. Free to rest. Free to be at peace.
And I will remember for you 💠

On 26th April 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon to raise money for Dementia UK, in loving memory of my wonderful Grandma.
Dementia is a cruel disease that affects not only those diagnosed, but the entire family around them. Watching someone you love slowly change is incredibly difficult, and I’m running these 26.2 miles to honour my Grandma and to help other families facing the same journey. 💠
