Claire's fundraiser for Teens Unite Fighting Cancer

Teens Unite is raising money for Teens Unite Fighting Cancer

Strictly 2025 · 29 November 2025

Teens Unite supports young people fighting cancer to live their best life, while others search for a cure. We inspire young people to recognise their potential now and in the future and empower them to live every moment to the full.

Story

Hi, I am taking part in the Teens Unite Strictly Dancing Ball on the 29th of November, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

Teens Unite is a charity that is close to my heart.

I work as a school Business Manager, in one of my schools, I had student who was diagnosed with cancer aged 15 whilst in year 10, he spent many months in and out of hospital and became disconnected with school and his friends. Teens Unite were a lifeline for both the student and his family. Through them he was able to meet and connect with other teenagers who were also going through similar experiences which was truly invaluable. His siblings had spent many months staying with relatives and their lives had also been turned upside down, with the help of Teens Unite we were able to provide respite for them and opportunities to take part in activities and experiences that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to.

Teens Unite provide tailored support for this age group after diagnosis during and after treatment.

I need to raise £3000 and learn a dance routine (in 14 hours) to perform in front of hundreds of people that I do not know.

I am closer to 50 than 40, unfit, and manage to trip over my own feet when walking on flat ground!

It’s been an amazing experience so far, and certainly something outside my comfort zone, with your help, I hope that I can raise lots of money for the charity and make everyone proud.

Thank you for your support
