'We are raising money for The ‘Rothbury Estate Appeal’ launched by The Wildlife Trusts and championed by, the inspirational ,100 year old, David Attenborough, to buy the Rothbury Estate.This would protect this beautiful tract of land with forests, moorland and part of the exquisitely beautiful River Coquet, and the rare wildlife that lives in it. Cuckoos can still be heard there in spring. It is home to Sky larks, Lapwings, Snipe ,Red Squirrels, Kingfishers, Otters ,endangered freshwater Eels and Salmon in the river, and so much more The Wildlife Trusts in collaboration with local farmers and residents, then plan to create a wildlife corridor of epic proportions , 40 miles ,stretching from the beautiful Druridge bay (home to the rare Natterjack toads and Eyed Ladybirds),through to the Northumberland National park ,to Kielder and the Scottish border.

Curvy Sounds Music Shop and Kate Dickinson-(Gardener, Artist and Wildlife lover) are working together to raise funds in the following ways.

Firstly on the 29th of September Kate and I (Jessie Mills) are doing a Sponsored Walk in the area of the Rothbury Estate.During this Walk we will be sketching and taking photos of the landscape and Wildife that we encounter .If anything of artistic merit comes of this ,we may then exhibit or sell the resulting artworks to raise further money.

Secondly Curvy Sounds is launching a raffle of a unique ,bespoke, Tokai Les Paul Guitar, customised by our Curvy Sounds founder Andrew Mills.It is currently a work in progress but will be finished by the end of the summer.He has created a design entirely made of small ovals of iridescent pearl ,that bloom outward from the centre of the guitar, based on natural pattern that can be found in the centre of a sunflower, in the movement of a shoal of fish in the water, or flower petals on the surface .

Additional prizes have been kindly donated by local Newcastle businesses including so far, gifts from Artichoke crafts, and vouchers from The Last Resort, Tipsy Toad, The Dog Grocers, Body Image Fitness,The Butterfly Cabinet ,Smoke and Sear & The Handsome Sandwich.
