Story

On 26th April, Graeme and I have the privilege of running the London Marathon to raise money for St. John’s Hospice. The Hospice has touched the lives of many people on the Wirral, either directly or indirectly. Last year, our daughter Molly and her best friend Ella raised a huge amount of money by taking on an ambitious challenge. They did this in memory of Ella’s beautiful mum, Vicky, who sadly passed away in 2024. We were so inspired by the girls and by Ella’s idea to give something back to those who helped her mum and her family at the most difficult time of their lives. We want to follow in their footsteps and continue to raise money for people and their loved ones for the time they most need it.

Since we started our training and fundraising, we have very sadly lost another friend and colleague. Karen passed away peacefully on 1st April at the Hospice, surrounded by her loved ones. She will be missed by everyone and we will be running to honour her memory as well as Vicky’s. Both very special people who will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts.

Wirral Hospice St. John’s relies on donations and fundraising activities to support people and their families. Thank you for your kind support.
